a quiet train home

This piece was written while composer Ollie Hawker and bassist Zoe Markle were at the 2023 4by4 Equivalentbehaviour and Ensemble Matters performer/composer residency in London, England.

They were interested in investigating the possibilities of low interference tones on the bass and between the bass and sine waves. The piece patiently develops until a fragmented folk melody appears and then drifts away once more.
